FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball team (26-8) will host Samford (22-10) on Wednesday night in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament.
It's the Patriots' first NIT bid since 2009 and first time hosting a home game since 2004.
The 7 p.m. game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Tickets will be general admission and will go on sale Monday.
George Mason enters the NIT having won 24 of the team's last 29 games. The Patriots have set a new program record for A-10 conference wins (15) and the team's 26 overall victories are the second-most in team history.
The Patriots would tie the school record for wins with a victory against Samford.
The Bulldogs went 12-6 in the Southern Conference and tallied 22 victories on the year.
