Fairfax, Va.- After a 13-day break, the Patriots are back in action for a conference game against NJIT and a Saturday matchup against Merrimack at the RAC. 
 
Last time the Highlanders and the Patriots faced each other was on February 7th with NJIT taking the win after five sets. Robert Evangelista had a great offensive game with 17 kills followed by Jackson Herbert who recorded 14 kills. Alexander Lillie was the defensive player of the week with eight blocks, four aces, and seven aces in the matchup against the Highlanders. 
 
On Saturday, George Mason will be facing Merrimack for the first time. Merrimack was one of four new varsity programs to launch during the 2022-2023 academic year.
 
Scouting NJIT:
  • Overall record of 7-9 with a conference record of 2-3
  • Are currently in a six-game losing streak
  • Defeated George Mason and Penn State for their two conference wins
