James Quinn-Irons was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and freshman catcher
Andrew Raymond was selected Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Quinn-Irons, from Reston, Va., hit .667 (12-for-18) with two home runs, four doubles, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored over four starts in center field last week. He posted a slash line of .667 / .684 / 1.222 and notched at least one extra-base hit in three of the four games.
In the Patriots' midweek game against Georgetown on Tuesday, Feb. 18, Quinn-Irons was 5-for-6 with a pair of doubles, five RBI and four runs scored. In the series finale against Saint Peter's on Sunday, Feb. 23, he went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run home runs.
Raymond, from Middletown, Md., batted .500 with three doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored in four games with three starts behind the plate. He recorded a slash line of .500 / .571 / 1.250.
Raymond hit his first two NCAA home runs and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored in his home debut on Friday, Feb. 21 against Saint Peter's. He homered in consecutive plate appearances in the third and fifth inning. Raymond had at least one extra-base hit in all three games of the series against Saint Peter's.
The Patriots continue their homestand when they host William & Mary on Tuesday with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. at Spuhler Field.
