Fairfax, Va.- George Mason extends their winning streak to four games with a victory against Roberts Wesleyan.
The first set began with a kill by
Liam French and a
Troy McDonald service ace. Roberts Wesleyan put up a fight attempting to make it a close game with the Patriots. George Mason had a 23-20 lead and a kill by
Robert Evangelista and
Giomar Collazo ended the first set in favor of the Patriots.
Bobby Fowler made his appearance once again after returning to the court against Sacred Heart on Saturday. For the second set,
Sebastian Sanchez,
Georgi Zahariev, and
Hayden Karpinski were introduced into the game to get some playing time. The players came out with power to overtake the Hawks 25-17. Sebastian took advantage of his minutes quickly recording three kills and two solo blocks to stun Robert Wesleyan.
Aidan Weltin,
Blake Pohevitz,
David Hill, and
Gabe Metcalf were named starters for the third set to close out the game.
Gabe Metcalf started it off with a service ace but the Hawks gained some rhythm and took a 9-6 lead.
Aidan Weltin and
Blake Pohevitz both recorded two kills with Blake also achieving one assist, one dig, and a perfect 4/4 receptions.
David Hill joined in the fun by adding one kill to his name. The sweep was completed with a 25-17 set victory.
