Fairfax, Va.- George Mason defended their court with two conference wins against Sacred Heart University. The second win tonight ended with a 3-1 result in favor of the Patriots.
The highlight of the first set was
Troy McDonald achieving his 2,000-career assist with an assist to
Jackson Herbert. The senior from California has been an important piece to George Mason's success and his records will forever be written in the history books for the Green and Gold.
Troy McDonald continued to dish out assists for
Jackson Herbert and
Liam French to quickly take the first set 25-18.
The second set was a hard-fought battle with the score being tied in multiple occasions. A 24-24 result force the game to go further, and the Pioneers took advantage of the situation scoring the 27
th point before the Patriots.
Momentum was in favor for Sacred Heart for the beginning of the third set, but George Mason would later go on a five-point unanswered streak with errors by the Pioneers. Sacred Heart were able to overcome the deficit tying the game as 22 a piece. With a kill by
Liam French and an attack error by the Pioneers, the Patriots would take a 2-1 lead.
Another back and forth match up in the third set with multiple service errors by both teams to cut the flow of the game.

Jackson Herbert all were crucial in the attack with
Alexander Lillie who once again recorded a career high of seven total blocks in one game, all uniting to bring the Patriots another conference win.
