Fairfax, Va.- George Mason is back at the RAC for two conference games against Sacred Heart University on Friday and Saturday.
Alexander Lillie will enter this weekend's conference games as the back-to-back EIVA Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman totaled 19 kills with two errors to hit .486, adding six aces, three digs, and 13 blocks with five of them solo. Lillie ranks fifth in the EIVA with 1.03 blocks per set and his 11 solo blocks ranks fifth in the nation.
Last time out, George Mason fell to NJIT for the first conference game of the season, 3-2. In the following day, the Patriots defeated FDU to get their record back to the .500 mark.
There have been 24 occasions where Sacred Heart and George Mason have faced each other and the Patriots have the upper hand with 21 wins. George Mason is in a 17-game winning streak against Sacred Heart with the last loss happening on February 15, 2014.
Scouting Sacred Heart:
- An overall record of 3-3 and a conference record of 0-2
- Both conference losses came against the University of Charleston last weekend
- Sophomore outside hitter, Aleksa Mandic, leads the Pioneers in kills with 76, in service aces with 10, and in digs collecting 34 tied with Harryzen Soares
