Alexander Lillie was named the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for a second week straight after his performances against NJIT and FDU over the weekend.
Alex played in all nine sets during the weekend against NJIT and FDU. He was a threat in the offensive end with 19 kills, a .485 hitting percentage and six service aces. Defensively he recorded 13 total blocks averaging 1.44 blocks per set. Lillie is now ranked 29
th in the NCAA with blocks per set.
He leads the Patriots in blocks with 30 total blocks and he also has the third most kills in the squad with 58. Eight service aces are also included in his resume so far with six of those coming from this past weekend.
The New York native has been crucial this season for the Patriots securing a starting spot in the team as a true freshman. Not only has he been effective in defense, but he has been contributing offensively as well for George Mason.
