Fairfax -- George Mason Wrestling participated in the A Better Way Athletics Open held at the George Mason Field House, achieving notable success with four individual champions and a total of eight place-winners.
 
The tournament featured strong performances across various weight classes. DJ McGee claimed the championship at 157 pounds, winning all five matches, including decisive victories over wrestlers from Rutgers and Navy. Logan Messer dominated the 174-pound class, remaining unbeaten with four victories, including a technical fall against his opponent from Navy.
 
Logan Messer dominated the 174-weight class with two falls, a technical fall and major decision earning the championship title. Messer won by decision in the championship against from top-seeded Sergio Desiante from Virginia Tech.
 
In the 184-pound division, Malachi DuVall also secured a championship title with a flawless 5-0 record, showcasing his skills by defeating opponents from Appalachian State and NC State. Jack Kelly finished in 5th place in the same weight class, demonstrating resilience with key wins over competitors from Rider and NC State.
 
James Blackman, wrestling in the heavyweight division, concluded the tournament as a champion with a 4-0 record, highlighted by a victory over a wrestler from Rider and a sudden victory win against Princeton.
 
Kaden Cassidy emerged as the runner-up in the 149-pound class with an impressive 5-1 record, including technical falls against competitors from American University and the University of Maryland.
 
In the 125-pound division, Ben Monn secured a 4th place finish with victories over opponents from institutions like Presbyterian and Arizona State. Freshman Tate Hisey had three straight major decisions en route to a fourth place finish.
