Fairfax, Va. - Six members of the George Mason women's soccer team were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team. Representing the Patriots were sophomore Gianna Chrapek and juniors Libby Davy, Maria Franjicic, Carly Passaro, Molly Starner, and Madyson Taylor – all of whom are first-time honorees.
This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's soccer honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be honored as a CSC Academic All-District® Team member, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale and compete in 90 percent of an institution's matches or start at least 66 percent of the contests. Last season, less than five percent of student-athletes earned this honor across all sports and divisions.
In her first season with the Patriots, Gianna Chrapek started all 18 matches and logged 1582 minutes. She recorded an assist in Mason's 2-0 shutout against Richmond. A Criminology, Law, and Society major, Chrapek has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.80.
A starter for all 18 matches, Libby Davy played every minute (1620) for George Mason between the posts in her first year in Fairfax. Davy recorded four shutouts, made 73 saves, and held a goals-against average of 1.39. Davy owns a 4.0 GPA as an English major.
Maria Franjicic logged a total of 1606 minutes after starting all 18 matches for the Patriots. She has amassed 4732 minutes over her career. Franjicic recorded two assists, including one that resulted in a game-tying goal against St. Joseph's. Franjicic holds a 3.982 GPA as a Kinesiology major.
Starting all 18 games, Carly Passaro logged 1590 minutes for the Patriots – her highest single-season total in three years at George Mason. Passaro's career total stands at 4222 minutes. The Patriots' co-captain recorded an assist on the equalizer in the home match against Davidson. Majoring in Government and Politics, Passaro holds a 3.82 GPA.
Appearing in all 18 games and starting 13, Molly Starner accumulated 1319 minutes for the Green and Gold – her highest single-season total in three years at Mason. A consistent offensive threat for the Patriots, Starner netted five goals for 10 points. She has maintained a 3.59 GPA as a Psychology major.
Rounding out the team's honorees, Madyson Taylor logged a total of 1476 minutes as a starter in all 18 games for George Mason. She recorded an assist in the Patriots' 4-0 victory versus St. Bonaventure. A Community Health major, Taylor holds a 3.897 cumulative GPA.
