FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University men's basketball junior
Kory Mincy has earned his second A-10 Player of the Week nod of the season, the league office announced on Monday morning.
It's the second time in four weeks Mincy has garnered the weekly accolade.
Mincy tallied a game-high 26 points, dished out four assists and added two steals in George Mason's Sunday win over Loyola (Md.). The East Point, Ga., product also made 2-of-4 3-point attempts and 10-of-11 free throws on the day.
Mincy has put together a torrid start to his first season in a George Mason uniform. He leads the A-10 in scoring (18.1 ppg) and minutes/game (35:08) while ranking third in 3pt FG made per game (2.67). He also is third in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.24) and fifth in assists/game (3.9). Nationally, Mincy is third in free throw percentage (.962) and 18th in 3pt FG percentage (.485).
Earlier this season, he set a new school record for consecutive free throws without a miss (48).
Mincy and the Patriots wrap up non-conference play on Sunday (Dec. 28) with a 5 p.m. home contest vs. Penn.
