Leo Lemoine scored his first goal of the season and graduate student goalkeeper
Jaume Salvado recorded his fourth shutout of the season to lift the Patriots to a 1-0 victory over Duquesne on Saturday night in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Patriots (4-2-2 A-10, 14 Points) will be seeded fifth in the Atlantic 10 Soccer Championship and will play at fourth-seeded Davidson (4-2-2 A-10, 14 Points) in the opening round on Saturday, Nov. 8 with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. in Davidson, N.C. Â
After a scoreless first half in the regular season finale, George Mason (7-5-3, 4-2-2 A-10, 14 Pts.) took the lead over Duquesne (8-6-2, 2-6-0 A-10, 6 pts.) early in the second half off a set piece.
In the 48th minute, sophomore forward
Martim Sereno played a perfect lob into the box with a corner kick to pick up his fifth assist of the season, with Lemoine converting with a header for his first goal of the season in his second match of the year to put the Patriots in front, 1-0.
