WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Patriots dropped a hard-fought 3–1 contest on the road at George Washington Wednesday evening at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. Set scores were 23–25, 10–25, 25–16, 14–25.
After a narrow loss in the opening frame, the Patriots responded with an impressive third set to extend the match. George Mason hit a blistering .435 in the stanza, sparked by a 3–0 run to open the set and strong serving from Autumn Martinez-Robinson. In the fourth set, the Revolutionaries swung at a .524 clip to close out the game.
George Mason totaled 40 kills, 50 digs, and six blocks on the night, highlighted by a balanced defensive effort and stretches of dominant play at the net. The loss moves the Patriots to 11–5 overall and 4–1 in Atlantic 10 play.
