WASHINGTON, D.C. – The George Mason men's soccer team stayed unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play with a 1–0 road victory over George Washington on Saturday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.
With the win, the Patriots improved to 5–3–1 overall and 2–0–1 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Revolutionaries fell to 2–7–2 and 0–3–0 in A-10 play.
After a scoreless opening half, George Mason broke through in the 60th minute. Graduate student forward Jacobo Sanfeliu found the back of the net for the lone goal of the match, finishing off a well-placed assist from graduate student midfielder Sergio Gonzalez Fernandez to give the Patriots a 1–0 lead.
Sanfeliu is tied for the team lead with five goals and Gonzalez Fernandez paces the Patriots with five assists.
The Patriots' back line turned in a composed performance, limiting the Revolutionaries to just four shots on goal. Graduate student goalkeeper Jaume Salvado recorded a four save shutout for his third clean sheet of the season.

George Mason outshot George Washington 14–11 including a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Patriots had seven corner kicks while the Revolutionaries didn't earn a corner kick in the match. Junior defender David Garcia (90 minutes) was active from the back, recording a team-high four shots with one shot on goal. Sanfeliu (87 minutes) took two shots with both on frame.
Defensively, the Patriots weathered late pressure from the Revs, including two shots in the final 15 minutes, to secure the conference road win.

The Patriots return home next week to face VCU on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
