Box Score DAYTON, Ohio – George Mason women's volleyball battled hard with the top team in the Atlantic 10 on Saturday afternoon but ultimately dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision (20-25, 25-27, 21-25) to first-place Dayton inside the Frericks Center.
The Patriots (14-8, 7-4 A-10) held their own in every frame, forcing 22 ties and seven lead changes in a match that featured tight rallies and long defensive stretches. Freshman outside hitter Kiera Hamilton led the Green & Gold with 13 kills on a .267 clip to go along with seven digs, while Meredith Brown added eight kills and three blocks. Setter Ava Cheney dished out 34 assists - a new career-high - and chipped in six digs and two blocks.
Offensively, George Mason tallied 41 kills while hitting .208 as a team, highlighted by balanced contributions across the front row — including seven kills from Avery Booker, six from Chelsea Colter, and five from Haley Graetz. The Patriots' block continued to make an impact, totaling six team blocks against one of the conference's most efficient attacking squads.
Defensively, Autumn Martinez-Robinson anchored the backline with eight digs and a service ace, while Alexa Stutzman added five digs and two aces from the service line.
