Bronx, N.Y. -- The George Mason Patriots (4-8-3, 3-3-1) will head back out on the road following a two-match homestand. They are set to face the Fordham Rams (8-5-2, 3-3-1) on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. at Moglia Stadium.

The Patriots' five losses against the Rams have come in the teams' most recent matchups. Mason's last victory in the series was delivered in thrilling fashion - a 2-1 overtime win during the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament, which propelled the Patriots to the conference semifinals.

In his post-game interview, head coach Aaron Brunner emphasized that earning a point in Thursday's match versus Davidson was especially valuable given the competitiveness of the Atlantic 10. After dropping two consecutive matches, Brunner believes the team's performance and result will provide a boost of confidence heading into the final three games of the regular season.

SCOUTING THE RAMS

The Rams are led by sophomore forward Liina Tervo, who has tallied 24 points with 10 goals and four assists. Tervo ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in both points and goals. She also ranks fifth in total shots (57) and fourth in shots on goal (29). Eight different players have found the back of the net for the Rams, and six of them have scored three or more goals. Fordham's scoring chances are well-distributed, with seven Rams having assisted on at least two goals.

The Patriots' defense must stay organized and disciplined to contain Fordham's dynamic attack. Limiting space in the midfield and maintaining strong communication along the back line will be key to disrupting the Rams' rhythm and reducing their scoring opportunities.

Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Addison Green appeared in three matches in August for the Rams, but senior Kyla King has been a consistent presence in net for the remainder of the season. King has made 52 saves, allowed 17 goals, and posts a goals-against average of 1.42. She has not recorded a shutout this season so far.

Fordham and George Mason currently share identical conference records and are tied for eighth place in the Atlantic 10 standings. With only eight teams qualifying for the Atlantic 10 Tournament and a limited number of games left in the regular season, Sunday's matchup carries significant postseason implications for both programs.

PATRIOTS SCHEDULE

The George Mason University Women's Soccer Team's 2025 schedule features a competitive slate of matchups highlighted by regional rivalries, Atlantic 10 battles, and a strong mix of home and away contests. The Patriots will play 18 regular season matches, including 10 at home at George Mason Stadium.

George Mason began the campaign with a 1-1 draw on the road at William & Mary on Thursday, August 14.

The Patriots wrapped up August with a four-game stretch that included home matches against Delaware and James Madison, followed by road games at Villanova and UPenn.

The Green & Gold rounded out non-conference play in September with a 1-0 win at Loyola Maryland and a 0-0 draw against American.
