FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason volleyball continued its winning ways on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Davidson in straight sets (25–18, 25–17, 25–23) inside the Recreation & Athletic Complex. The victory improves the Patriots to 13–5 overall and 6–1 in Atlantic 10 play.
George Mason dominated at the net, posting 8 total blocks and holding Davidson to a .158 hitting percentage. Offensively, the Patriots tallied 44 kills and hit .288 as a team while recording four service aces.
The Patriots set the tone early in the first set, jumping out to a 12–3 lead behind Hamilton and Colter before cruising to a 25–18 win. In the second set, George Mason broke a 9–9 tie with a 8-2 run fueled by timely blocks and Brown's offense in the middle, eventually pulling away 25–17. The Wildcats battled in the third, leading 4–1 early, but the Patriots responded with balanced scoring and clutch plays down the stretch, sealing the match 25-23.
