FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team are set to take on the Davidson Wildcats in a midweek matchup. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at EagleBank Arena with television broadcast on ESPN+ with
Steve Kolbe and Debbie Taneyhill.
George Mason is 6-7 historically with Saint Joseph's. The two programs hadn't played each other until the Wildcats joined the A-10 in 2014-15, just a year after the Patriots joined. Last year, the two teams split a two-game series, each taking a game in their home arena.
Similar to last year, the two teams are competing for the top of the A-10 table. Both enter the game with five conference wins under their belts, they stand at #52 (Patriots) and #86 (Wildcats) in the NET rankings, and both are in the top 3 in the Atlantic 10 standings.

- Sophomore Kennedy Harris and junior Zahirah Walton have led the Patriots in scoring so far this season, averaging 15.0 ppg and 13.1 ppg, respectively.

- Mason returns ten letter winners and three starters from last season's squad, including captains Paula Suárez and Nalani Kaysia, last year's A-10 Rookie of the Year Zahirah Walton, and preseason third team selections Ta'Viyanna Habib and Kennedy Harris.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
The Davidson College Wildcats have won five games in Atlantic 10 conference play so far and have only dropped one game against the top-seeded Richmond Spiders. Sitting at 10-8 overall, the Wildcats are 3-5 on the road coming into Fairfax. In the last 10 matchups against Davidson, the Patriots are 5-5 in the series.
Four players are currently averaging double figures in scoring, led by 2023-24 Second Team All-Conference selection Charlise Dunn, who averages 11.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. She also leads the team in steals with 15. Sophomore guard Katie Donovan is second in scoring, averaging 10.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Senior guard Issy Morgan averages 10.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while leading the team from the free throw line (40-48, 83.3%). Candice Lienafa averages 10.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and is second on the team in blocks with 11.
Another notable player is Millie Prior, who leads the team in rebounds per game (6.4) and total blocks (19) while averaging 5.7 points per game. Freshman guard Kyra Bruyndoncx averages 7.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
As a team, Davidson ranks third in field goal percentage (43.6%) and bench points per game (22.7). The Wildcats are first in the Atlantic 10 conference and ranked 17th in the nation in three-point percentage defense (25.2). They also rank third in the conference for three-pointers per game (7.7).
