FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason sophomore midfielder
Quentin Clain scored two goals in the first half in the Patriots 4-3 victory over Howard on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium
The Patriots scored the first three goals of the match.
George Mason (4-0-0) took the lead over Howard (0-3-0) in the 28th minute of play.
Freshman forward
Martim Sereno scored his second goal of the season when he maneuvered past a defender and blistered a low shot past the Howard goalkeeper from 15 yards out to put the Patriots in front 1-0. Senior defender Javi Sanchez and graduate student defender
Jordi Navio Sanchez each picked up an assist on the play.
In the 37th minute, Clain found the back of the net off a rebound from eight yards out when he put a shot just under the crossbar to increase the lead to 2-0.
Less than two minutes later, Clain scored into the lower left corner from 15 yards out to make it 3-0. Senior midfielder
Erick Kilosho started the play with a touch ahead to register his second assist of the season, while graduate student forward
Marek Gonda picked up his first assist as a Patriot.
In the final minute of play in the first half, Howard freshman midfielder Naim Robinson scored his first collegiate goal off a cross to cut the lead to 3-1. Senior forward Bryson Baker picked up the assist.
Howard graduate student forward Mason Christian netted a pair of early goals in the second half to tie the score.
In the 47th minute, Christian converted a header from nine yards out off a cross from freshman defender Kuba Cihak, who registered his first collegiate assist.
Christian scored the equalizer in the 51st minute when he made a move inside the penalty area and hit the lower left corner of the net from 16 yards out. Junior midfielder Roman Stallings recorded his first assist of the season on the goal.
In the 88th minute, Sereno worked his way into the penalty area and played a ball into the six, where the ball deflected off a Howard defender and into the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder
Javier Montava and Sereno registered assists on the goal.

Jaume Salvado (4-0-0) made three saves in the match to earn the victory, while Howard freshman goalkeeper Liam Keiller made four saves.

Sereno (88 minutes) led all players with six shots in the match. Sereno and Clain each posted two shots on goal, while Sanchez and Gonda each recorded one shot on goal.
