FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-1-2) will host their first home game of the season against William & Mary (0-2-0) this Sunday, August 25
th at 6 p.m at George Mason Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
Last Thursday, George Mason faced Howard in a back-and-forth match to walk away from Washington DC with a 1-1 draw. Howard took an early lead scoring a goal in the 12
th minute. George Mason was in the back seat for most of the game until the 86
th minute.
Madyson Taylor recovered the ball from 20 yards and shot from that distance to score the tying goal for the Patriots.
SCOUTING WILLIAM & MARY
The Tribe started currently are 0-2-0 in the season, losing against Radford 1-4 in their opening game. Their second loss came at home against Old Dominion by score line of 0-2.
William & Mary currently have only score one goal this season so far. Peyton Costello scored the goal, assisted by Gabriella Kurtas. Peyton and Gabriella also lead their team with most points.
HISTORY WITH WILLIAM & MARY
Sunday's showdown in Fairfax will be the 45
th meeting all-time between George Mason and W&M. The Tribe holds a solid 24-14-6 lead in the series and won last year's match in Williamsburg 4-0. The Tribe is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings with the Patriots and 10-6 all-time in Fairfax.
