FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team (0-1-1) will go down the road to Washington DC to face Howard (1-0-1) this Thursday, August 22
nd at 7 p.m at Greene Stadium. This will be the Patriots' third consecutive road match of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
Last Sunday, George Mason faced Campbell in a hard-fought battle to walk away from North Carolina with a 3-3 draw. The Patriots were down 0-2 in the 52
nd minute but the comeback began in the 58
th minute.
Josie Stockett, KK O'Donnell, and an own goal put George Mason back in the front, 3-2. The game continued to be a nail biter until the very end when Campbell scored the tying goal in the last 30 seconds of the game.
SCOUTING HOWARD
The Bison started off their season against Saint Peter's at Greene stadium and won with a score line of 4-2. Howard continued their season traveling to Norfolk to face Hampton. The matchup ended in a deadlock with both teams not scoring in the 90 minutes.
Sophomore forward, Mimi Richards is the Bison's top goal scorer this season scoring two goals in two games so far. Gabrielle Garcia-Terrell and Zoe Moore lead the team in assists with one each. Freshman goalkeeper, Hailey Ayers has only conceded one goal in 135 minutes played with 3 saves made.
HISTORY WITH CAMPBELL
There has been eight occasions where George Mason have faced Howard and the Patriots have won in seven games of the eight played. The last loss came in 2017 and the last meet up was in 2022 with George Mason winning 3-1.
