FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's volleyball teams have earned the the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, the organization announced.
The George Mason women's team received the honor after compiling a 3.46 team GPA during the 2023-24 academic year. The Patriots earned the award for the 10th time, including seven times in the last eight years.
The men's volleyball team received the honor after compiling a 3.33 team GPA during the 2023-24 academic year. George Mason earned the award for the fifth time.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
