FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) announced Friday that former Iona guard Jeremiah Quigley will join the Patriot roster, beginning in 2024-25.
Â
Quigley put together an outstanding freshman campaign for the Gaels in 2023-24 while ranking second on the team in assists (3.3 apg) and third in scoring (10.8 ppg).
Â
"I knew Jeremiah in high school and I remember how he always exhibited elite toughness," Skinn said. "Point guard was an area of emphasis for us in the offseason. Jeremiah put together an excellent freshman campaign at Iona. Â is very efficient in his role as a playmaker and he has the mentality and skill set needed to thrive in a ball screen offense."
Â
Quigley proved impressively consistent as a floor general during his inaugural collegiate campaign. The 5-foot-11-inch guard scored 10+ points and at least 3+ assists in 21 contests. He started 18 of 33 games for the Gaels and averaged 28.0 minutes/contest while also tallying 28 steals on the season. He committed just 55 turnovers on the year while registering a solid 1.96 assist/turnover ratio.
Â
A native of Accokeek, Md., Quigley starred for Bishop McNamara High School as one of the best players in the WCAC. As a senior, he earned First Team All-WCAC accolades while averaging 20.5 points per game and shooting 54 percent from the field. A McDonald's All-America nominee, Quigley lead McNamara to its first-ever Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament championship appearance. He played his AAU ball for famed Team Takeover in Washington, D.C.
Â
Quigley is the second transfer portal addition for the Patriots so far this season. The Green & Gold also will welcome former Siena forward Giovanni Emejuru, as well as incoming freshmen Justin Begg (Houston, Texas) and Bryson Cokley (Whiteville, N.C.).
