Box Score Fairfax, Va.- No.16 George Mason closes the regular season with another loss against No.8 Penn State. Penn State remains undefeated in the EIVA Conference and will host the EIVA Tournament. George Mason secured the #2 seed last night and will have a bye round, resuming play on Thursday, April 18
th for the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, the stats broadcast was down and we do not have the play-by-play to give a rundown of what occurred during the game. Penn State had their senior ceremony and were inspired to give their seniors a final regular season victory. George Mason suffered a heartbreaking defeat last night fighting for five sets, but even with the #1 and #2 seed secured, both teams came out with a strong lineup today to add another win to their record. Penn State took the first and second set but Mason fought back to win the third set and avoided the sweep. Penn State ultimately won the fourth set and closed out another undefeated EIVA regular season.
Penn State in all their conference games have given up only one set from every series they have played. When Penn State played NJIT, Princeton, Harvard, and Charleston; The Nittany Lions won 6-1 in aggregate against each team. The Patriots gave the Nittany Lions the biggest challenge from the EIVA conference with the aggregate score ending at 6-3. Princeton got their revenge defeating Charleston in another five-set thriller to place the Tigers at #3 and to face Charleston again for the quarterfinals of the EIVA Tournament. Harvard lost both games against NJIT and both teams will have to face each other once again for the quarterfinals. George Mason will be waiting for the result between Princeton and Charleston to finalize the semi-final matchup.

- Seniors Omar Hoyos and Jack Bolz led the team in kills with 11
- Junior middle blocker Lucas Little had the most blocks with five and had three kills
- Junior setter Troy McDonald had 38 assists and had one block assist
- Senior Colin Heath led the team in digs with seven. Colin also had nine kills and one block assist

George Mason will be back in action on Thursday, April 18th for the semi-finals of the EIVA Tournament. The Patriots will travel back to Pennsylvania and wait for the result between Charleston and Princeton to determine who will be the next opponent.
