Fairfax, Va.- No.17 George Mason extends the winning streak to six games after defeating Tusculum, 3-0. The Patriots get their fourth sweep of the season and remain undefeated at the RAC.
The first set began with intensity, the Patriots had an instant 4-0 lead with kills by
Omar Hoyos and
Colin Heath. Tusculum were not able to take the lead and Mason made it more difficult by scoring another four consecutive points to extend their lead to a promising 20-11. The Pioneers attempted to delay the set and hope to make a comeback but Mason scored another three consecutive points to reach set point, 24-14.
Jack Bolz achieved the last kill of the set to give Mason a 1-0 lead.
The Pioneers came out with a sudden energy to make more of an impact in the game. They scored the first point of the second set with a kill by Adam Svendsen and they went back and forth with the Patriots for majority of the set. There were 10 moments of the game where it was tied but it ended once it reached 12-12. Mason scored four consecutive points to have the largest lead of the set, 16-12. Tusculum were not able to recover from the Patriots attack and
Omar Hoyos concluded the set with a kill, 25-18.
Mason took an early 4-0 lead with three consecutive service aces by
Omar Hoyos. The Pioneers were able to score one point before the Patriots went on another three-point run to extend their lead to 7-1. Tusculum turned on the gears and scored six unanswered points to tie the game and fight for the third. Mason kept their cool and scored three unanswered points to recover the lead of 11-8 and did not allow Tusculum to come back. The Pioneers were unable to tie the game up and the Patriots ended the game with a service error by Tusculum and a service ace by
Omar Hoyos.

- Omar Hoyos led the team once again in kills with 10 and a career-high of five aces
- Jack Bolz had the most blocks with three followed by Sam Peters with two
- Georgi Zahariev continues giving out assists with 31
- Paul Wyszynski led the team in digs with seven
- George Mason had a .403 hitting percentage while Tusculum had a .206 hitting percentage
