FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will wrap up the regular season with an important match-up with in-state rival VCU on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams are currently in a three-way tie for second place alongside Saint Joseph's in the league standings, as all three teams own a record of 14-3. Mason and VCU have already met this season just over a month ago in Fairfax when the Patriots beat the Rams on Homecoming weekend, 60-47.

Both the Patriots and the Rams are riding four-game win streaks entering the final day of the regular season. The last time out, Mason defeated Dayton for the second time in 2024, this time 78-53 at home. VCU secured a gritty 69-59 win on the road at Rhode Island in a battle of the Rams.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
VCU enters Sunday's matchup riding a four-win streak as a part of one of its' best seasons in program history. The Rams have gone 14-3 in Atlantic 10 play this season, and have most recently beat Rhode Island on the road and Saint Joseph's at home in the last 10 days. VCU has also lived up to "home court advantage", and sits at 13-1 inside the Siegel Center this year, with its' lone loss coming at the hands of Richmond on Feb. 14.

The No. 2 scoring defense in the nation allows just 51.9 points per game, due in large part to its' shooting defense. The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage defense at 35.7% (12th nationally) and three-point percentage at 23.1% (1st nationally). The Rams also lead the A-10 in rebounding margin at +10.1. and grab a league second 39.9 boards per game.

Three Rams are tallying double-figure scoring this season, led by Sarah Te-Biasu with 15.3 points per game (6th, A-10). She also leads the team with 2.9 assists (14th, A-10) and 1.9 steals (6th, A-10) per game. The guard also leads the team and is third in the conference with an 86.4 free throw percentage, converting 76 of 88 attempts, and is the team-leader in three-pointers made with 71 (2nd, A-10).

Timaya Lewis-Eutsey (13.1) and Mary-Anna Asare (10.3) also average double-figure scoring, while Lewis-Eutsey also leads the team with a .493 field goal percentage (6th, A-10) and is second on the team with 18 blocks and 48 assists.
