Fairfax, Va.- The 17
th ranked George Mason looks forward on continuing the good form they are currently on, defeating NJIT and FDU as visitors. The Patriots will be traveling to West Virginia for two more conference games against the University of Charleston.
Last time out, the Patriots defeated NJIT in the first conference game of the season. The Highlanders ran away with the first set overcoming Mason with a score of 25-13. Mason had the composure and mental strength to achieve the reverse sweep and take the win back to Fairfax.
Colin Heath had ten kills with two assists,
Omar Hoyos had four service aces with ten digs, and
Troy McDonald had 38 assists.
Mason faced FDU the next day and swept the Knights to leave New Jersey with a two-game winning streak.
Colin Heath had an unforgettable weekend recording another 13 kills, two assists, and two blocks.
Omar Hoyos led the team in digs (7) and also had two blocks. George Mason continues its dominance over FDU winning five times out of five games to remain undefeated against the Knights.
The Patriots will be facing the University of Charleston for the next round of conference games. Since 2015, both teams have faced each other 19 times with Mason being victorious in 18 of those games. The Patriots were on a 17-game winning streak against Charleston up until 2023 where a loss was given to Mason after a five-set thriller at the RAC. George Mason is undefeated competing away at West Virginia, winning 11 games out of the 11 that have been played.
