FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will head north this week for a midweek matchup with St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.
 
George Mason and St. Bonaventure will meet for the 16th time in program history on Wednesday night and all 15 of the teams' previous meetings have come as Atlantic 10 competitors. Mason will travel to Olean for the third time in the last four meetings as the Patriots look to push their win streak to four over the Bonnies.
 
The last time out, Mason picked up a rivalry win over George Washington at home, 60-57, to sweep the Revolutionaries for the first time since 2019. On the other hand, St. Bonaventure fell to Fordham, 70-48, at home.
 
PATRIOT POINTS
  • On Monday, Kennedy Harris was named the Atlantic 10 Co- Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season after averaging 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for Mason
  • Sonia Smith leads the team with 14.7 points per game (8th, A-10) and is sixth in the Atlantic 10 with 15.4 points per game against conference opponents. She also leads the team with 3.1 assists per game (11th, A-10) 
  • The Patriots lead the A-10 40.5 boards per game (41st nationally), offensive rebounds with 14.7 (20th nationally) and a 5.16 turnover margin (19th nationally)
  • Mason is second with 71.6 points per game, in 3-point defense, allowing just 27.2% (28th nationally), 9.2 steals per game and a 14.4-point scoring margin (31st nationally)
  • Mason boasts one of the top benches in the country, currently sitting at fourth nationally with 31.1 bench points per game. Zahirah Walton leads the way with a team-second-best 11.2 points per game
 
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
St. Bonaventure sits at 4-21 overall and 1-13 in Atlantic 10 contests this year. The Bonnie's lone win in Atlantic 10 came in their conference opener over Loyola Chicago on Dec. 30 when SBU downed the Ramblers 84-72 at home.
 
Three Bonnies average double-figures, led by Dani Haskell's 12.6 points per game. Haskell is also the team-leader in three-pointers with 52, more than double the next player, good for 2.2 per game (8th, A-10). Isabellah Middleton and Nadechka Laccen round out the top-3 with 10.3 points per game each.
 
Middleton also leads the Bonnies with 5.7 rebounds (17th, A-10) and eight blocks. Kirah Dandridge leads St. Bonaventure with 1.1 steals per game and 2.0 assists per game and is tied with Middleton for the team-lead in blocks with eight total. 
 
UP NEXT
The Patriots will return to Fairfax for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 24. Mason will welcome in-state rival Richmond to EagleBank at 3 p.m.
