FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column on Sunday when it travels to Dayton to battle the Flyers in another Atlantic 10 matchup.
Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses the last time out, as Mason fell to Saint Joseph's, 59-47, which is receiving votes in the latest Coaches Poll. Dayton fell on the road at Fordham, 70-48.
Sunday's game will mark the 13th game in the series history, with all matchups coming as members of the Atlantic 10. The Flyers have dominated the series, winning 10 of 12 games, and all five meetings in Ohio. Mason will look to pick up its' first road win over Dayton in program history, and its' first overall since 2019.

- Ta'Viyanna Habib paced the offense with 12 points on 5-10 shooting to go with a team-high eight rebounds against Saint Joe's. The junior is averaging 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds over the last four contests and has shot over 50% or in that span
- Sonia Smith leads the team with 15.7 points per game (7th, A-10) and is fifth in the Atlantic 10 with 15.6 points per game against conference opponents. She also leads the team with 3.1 assists per game (11th, A-10)
- The Patriots lead the A-10 with a 15.5-point scoring margin (29th nationally), 41.8 boards per game (25th nationally) and a 5.09 turnover margin (21st nationally)
- Mason is second in the conference with 72.2 points per game and in 3-point defense, allowing just 25.7% (12th nationally) and FG% defense at 36.6% (28th nationally)
- Mason boasts one of the top benches in the country, currently sitting at 4th nationally with 33.2 bench points per game. Walton leads the way with a team-second-best 11.2 points per game
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Ivy Wolfe paces the Flyers' offense with 11.8 points (21st, A-10) and 3.6 assists (5th, A-10) per game, and is the team's best three-point shooter with 46 makes (10th, A-10) on the year. Destiny Bahanon is just behind Wolfe with 11.0 points per game as the two team up as the double-figure scorers for the Flyers.
Arianna Smith is leading the Flyers across the court with an Atlantic 10-best 11.3 rebounds per game (8th nationally) to go with a team third-best 9.9 points per game. Defensively, Anyssa Jones leads Dayton with 0.9 steals per game to go with 8.7 points and 3.8 rebounds. Mariah Perez is the team leader in blocks with 18 (15th, A-10) while averaging 7.1 points and 6.2 rebounds (13th, A-10).
As a team, Dayton is second in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding with 40.7 boards per game, and is also second with 15.0 offensive rebounds per contest. The Flyers have the second-best rebounding margin in the conference at +8.9. It will be a strong road test for the Patriots, as Dayton brings in a conference-high 2,965.0 fans per home game.
