Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Patriots women's basketball team opens their Atlantic 10 conference play with a dominant 87-55 victory over regional rival George Washington.

The Revolutionaries started the game with a bucket less than a minute into the game, but it was all Green & Gold after that. An 18-5 run followed for the Patriots, largely due to the play of Ta'Viyanna Habib who had eight of those points, including two three-pointers.

George Washington cut George Mason's lead to 10 at the end of the first quarter, but that was the closest they got the rest of the game. The Patriots were up 12 at halftime, and 23 at the end of the third quarter, a lead they maintained through the final whistle.

Six Patriots hit at least one three-pointer, and 10 total players scored.

After that early conference matchup, George Mason leaves with the momentum to finish their non-conference season before resuming Atlantic 10 play in the new year.
