FAIRFAX — The George Mason wrestling team aims to extend its unbeaten streak as they face Gardner-Webb on Thursday night inside the RAC at 7 pm.
The Patriots (7-0, 5-0) are off to their best start since 2022-23 when the team won eight straight to open the season. They can match that with a win against the Runnin' Bulldogs (2-3, 0-0) from the SoCon Conference.
The Runnin' Bulldogs defeated the Patriots in Boiling Springs last season and hold a 4-3 edge in the all-time series. Both team defeated common opponent Buffalo earlier this season. George Mason won 29-9 and Gardner-Webb defeated the Bulls, 27-11.
The Patriots are the only undefeated NCAA Division I team with seven wins, and lead the MAC standings with a 5-0 record—their best season in MAC competition.
