2025-26 (Redshirt Junior – 165): Entered the season ranked No. 2 in the MAC preseason rankings at 165 pounds… Earned MAC East Wrestler of the Week honors after opening dual competition with a fall over Campbell’s Kendrick Hodge and a 10-2 major decision over No. 10 Thomas Snipes of The Citadel… Continued to compete at 165 pounds for the Patriots during his fourth season in the program.

2024-25 (Redshirt Sophomore – 165): Posted a 22-6 record and a .786 winning percentage while competing at 165 pounds… Went 8-1 in MAC dual competition and remained nationally ranked throughout the season… Recorded bonus points in 57 percent of his victories, including eight falls and seven technical falls… Ranked among the NCAA Division I leaders in both falls and technical falls during the season… Finished runner-up at the Battle at The Citadel and A Better Way Athletics Patriot Open and earned a place at the Midlands Championships… Entered the MAC Championships with a 20-5 record and national rankings of No. 21 in the NCAA Coaches Rankings and No. 23 in the RPI… Defeated Kent State’s Caden Dobbins, 7-4, in the opening round of the MAC Championships before an injury ended his tournament and prevented him from defending his conference title… Earned the Jerry Mullins Coaches Appreciation Award… Named an NWCA Scholar All-American.

2023-24 (Redshirt Freshman – 165): Captured the MAC Championship at 165 pounds and qualified for the NCAA Championships in his first season in the starting lineup… Posted a 27-11 record with 10 falls and four technical falls… Entered the MAC Championships as the No. 3 seed and defeated Hunter Shaut and Tyler Swiderski to advance to the championship bout… Pinned No. 12 Garrett Thompson of Ohio in 2:49 in the MAC final to claim his first conference championship, avenging an earlier loss to Thompson… Became the second MAC champion in George Mason wrestling history at the time… Earned the No. 29 seed at the NCAA Championships… Ranked among the top 10 in NCAA Division I with 10 falls… Named First Team All-MAC… Selected as the George Mason Wrestling Freshman of the Year and George Mason Male Most Improved Athlete… Earned NWCA Scholar All-America and Academic All-MAC honors.

PREP: Wrestled at Notre Dame Green Pond High School for head coach Matt Veres… Finished his prep career with 113 victories… Two-time PIAA state place winner, finishing fifth in both 2020 and 2022… Competed for Lost Boys Wrestling Club under Veres.

PERSONAL: Son of Jeff and Chrissy Maag… Has two siblings, Jake and Grace… Father, Jeff, wrestled collegiately at Bloomsburg University… Earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing and is pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management at George Mason… Enjoys MMA and fishing.
