FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball team reached the 100-point plateau for the first time in more than 15 years Saturday en route to a 100-55 triumph over Ferrum inside EagleBank Arena.
The Patriots (4-3) shot 52.9 percent for the game and made a season-best 13 triples. It marked the first time the Green & Gold notched 100+ points since a Jan. 3, 2009 win over UNC Wilmington.
Senior
Woody Newton led the charge by doubling his previous career high. He exploded for 26 points (9-12 FG) and connected on six of eight 3-pointers to shatter his previous career best of three triples.
Junior
Brayden O'Connor added 14 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting performance. He also usurped his previous personal best with five assists in the win.
Senior guard
K.D. Johnson notched 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while senior
Jalen Haynes posted 13 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Junior
Giovanni Emejuru wrapped up the double-figure scorers with 10 points (6-6 FT) and grabbed three offensive boards.
Defensively, the Green & Gold limited Ferrum to just 32.2 percent shooting and 25 percent (6-24) from 3. The Patriots now have held their opponent under 40 percent in five of six games on the year.
George Mason held significant advantages in points in the paint (33-18) and bench scoring (39-21). The Green & Gold led by 17 (44-27) at the break and outscored Ferrum 56-28 in the second half.

Ben Woodward and
T.J. Prosise also knocked down their first career buckets in the victory.
The Patriots return from Thanksgiving to battle rival James Madison on Black Friday (Nov. 29) in Harrisonburg. Tip-off between the Patriots and Dukes is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
