Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – George Mason women's basketball bested the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in a nationally broadcast midweek matchup, 50-41.

Sophomore Kennedy Harris once again led the Patriots in scoring with 15 point. Graduate student Nalani Kaysia almost added a double-double, finishing with 8 points and 10 rebounds.

Both teams struggled to score to start the game. Scoring just nine points in the first quarter and 19 in the first half, the Patriots entered the locker room up one after being down most of the half.

In the second half, the Green & Gold started stringing together points. A 15-6 run in the third quarter gave the Patriots a little breathing room. Then some clutch free throws in the fourth quarter and a dagger three-pointer from senior Paula Suárez lifted the Patriots to victory.

This win over Wake Forest is just the eighth win that George Mason has had over an ACC team. This 5-0 start also matches last year's 5-0 start, making it the first time the program has open back-to-back seasons with five consecutive wins.
