HUNTINGTON, W.V. – The George Mason women's basketball team will travel to West Virginia to take on the Marshall Herd on Sunday, November 17, at 6 p.m.
George Mason is 1-0 historically with Marshall having played their first game against each other last season. Last year, the Patriots hosted the Herd in a non-conference matchup and won, 84-77.
Ta'Viyanna Habib led the Green & Gold with 20 points and 7 rebounds, and three other Patriots also scored double-digits.

- Sophomore Kennedy Harris and graduate student Ta'Viyanna Habib have led the Patriots is scoring so far this season, averaging 14.7 ppg and 11.3 ppg, respectively.

SCOUTING THE HERD
So far in the 2024-25 season, Marshall University has one win over Elon University (65-56), and two losses against Toledo (68-71) and Northern Kentucky (78-80). Three players are currently averaging double-figures in scoring for the Thundering Herd, led by Aislynn Hayes, who averages a team-high 18.3 points and 4.7 rebounds. Meredith Maier is second in scoring with 16.3 points per game, and 4.7 rebounds. CC Mays is third on the team with 10.7 points per game and second on the team in rebounds with 5.3 a game. Madison Kellione leads the team in steals (5) while also averaging 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Leyocha Marigney leads the team in blocks (5) and averages 4.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. As a team, Marshall boasts the fourth-best free throw percentage in the Sun Belt conference at 67.9%. They rank sixth for field goal percentage at 41.1% and seventh for blocks per game (3.0) and assists per game (13.0).
