Fairfax, Va.— The George Mason wrestling team will be on the road this weekend for two matches against MAC opponents. The Patriots travel to Pennsylvania to take on Edinboro (2-0, 0-0 MAC), on Friday and Clarion (0-1, 0-0) on Sunday. 

The Patriots (3-0, 1-0 MAC) hope to continue a win streak against Edinboro and break a three-match losing streak to Clarion.

Four Patriots are ranked by Intermat: 149 – #33 Kaden Cassidy, 157 – #18 DJ McGee, 165 – #25 Evan Maag, 184 – #24 Malachi DuVall.
 
The Patriots were selected to finish third, its highest preseason ranking in the MAC. Clarion and Edinboro was selected eighth and ninth, respectively.
 
George Mason's Malachi DuVall (184) and Evan Maag (165) are ranked atop their weight class in the MAC to start the season. Both look to defend their 2024 MAC Championship at the same weight class. NCAA Qualifier DJ McGee is ranked second at 157 pounds.
 
Season Series: George Mason has won three straight and five of the last six matches against the Fighting Scots. Edinboro last defeated the Patriots, 22-20, Jan. 31, 2021.
 
Season Series: Clarion has won three straight duals against the Patriots. The last time George Mason defeated Clarion was on Nov. 17, 2019 by a narrow, 19-18, margin.
