FAIRFAX, Va. – The top-seeded George Mason men's soccer team hosts sixth-seeded Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Championship Semifinals on Wednesday with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.

The eight-team, single elimination tournament began on Friday, Nov. 8 with the Patriots blanking eighth-seeded La Salle, 2-0, at George Mason Stadium.
Sophomore midfielderÂ
Javier Montava netted the eventual game-winner in the 33rd minute and sophomore forwardÂ
Kelly Janssen scored in the 73rd minute to pad the lead.
The Patriots finished the match with a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

George Mason improved to 5-1 all-time in the Atlantic 10 Championship.

George Mason won the A-10 regular season title for the first time in program history and posted six regular season victories in conference play for the first time since joining the league in 2013.

George Mason (13-3-1, 6-1-1 A-10) and Saint Louis (7-3-8, 4-1-3 A-10) will meet for the 10th time. The Patriots have a record of 4-5-1 all-time against the Billikens, including a mark of 2-1-1 in matches played at George Mason Stadium. Seven of the 10 meetings between the two teams in the all-time series have been decided by one goal or less.

George Mason finished the A-10 regular season third in both goals (33) and goals per match (2.2) and tied for the third-fewest goals allowed (17).  The Patriots won their first four matches in Atlantic 10 play for the first time since joining the conference in 2013.Â

No. 6 Saint Louis finished the regular season with a 6-3-8 overall record, including a mark of 4-1-3 in Atlantic 10 play. The Billikens went 5-0-4 at home, 2-2-4 on the road and 0-0-1 at a neutral site.

In the A-10 quarterfinals, the Billikens downed third-seeded Massachusetts, 3-0, in the penalty-kick shootout on Friday in Amherst, Mass. Saint Louis outshot UMass, 9-6, in the match including a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Billikens earned eight corner kicks while the Minutemen had four in the match.Â
Senior forward Luis Lara leads the team in goals (8), points (16), game-winners (3), shots (48) and shots on goal (20) in 18 starts.
Senior forward Matthew Wrobel is tied of second in goals (4) and is tied for third in points (10) in 16 starts. He is also second in shots (26) and shots on goal (13).
Tanner Anderson is tied for second on the club in goals (4) and is fourth in points (9) in 18 games with one start. He is third on the Billikens in shots in goal (10).
Senior forward Seth Anderson paces the club in assists (9), is second in points (11) and third in shots (23) in 18 starts. Led the A-10 in assists during the regular season (9).
