Patriots Host Duquesne Dukes For Senior Day Sunday

FAIRFAX, VA. – The George Mason women's soccer team (3-10-5, 1-5-3 A-10) host Duquesne University (9-7-0, 3-6-0 A-10) Thursday, October 27th, at 1:30 p.m for Senior Day. We will celebrate and honor our four seniors Katelyn O'Donnell, Sydney Dacus, Milan Pierre-Jerome, and Zoë Vidaurre. 

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots played Saint Louis last time out. The Billikens found the back of the net early, in the 7th minute junior midfielder Julia Simon scored off her right foot in the bottom left corner of the goal. In the 37th minute, Audrey Smith scored her fourth goal of the season in the bottom left of the goal; assisted by Katie Houck. The Billikens added one more goal in the first half in the 40th minute. Sophomore Nina Preusser scored off her right foot in the bottom left corner; assisted by Sophia Stram.

In the second half, Saint Louis picked up right where they started. Scoring in the 49th minute just four minutes after the half started, Hope Kim found the back of the net with the assist from Izzy Luebbert. The Billikens added a last minute goal in the 82nd minute when freshman Caigan Leonard scored her first career goal in the bottom right corner of the net. 

Goalkeeper Victoria Coninck played 45 minutes tonight tallying six saves. Selamawit Caldart played the last 45 minutes and also recorded six saves.

Saint Louis had the advantage in corner kicks 6-1.

SCOUTING DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY
Last time out the Dukes lost to St. Joseph's University 3-0. Jayden Sharpless and Hailey Longwell recorded four shots. Margey Brown and Mackenzie Muir recorded three shots, with Brown having one shot on goal. 

Margey Brown leads the team in goals (9) and points (23), and Brianna Moore is right behind her with eight goals and 18 points.

HISTORY WITH DUQUESNE 
Duquesne leads the all-time series against the Patriots (5-2-0). Last time these teams played each other was in 2021 when the Patriots beat the Dukes in George Mason Stadium 2-0.
