FAIRFAX, Va. – Sophomore forward
Kelly Janssen scored a pair of goals as the George Mason men's soccer team tallied four unanswered goals in the second half to defeat St. Bonaventure, 4-1, on senior day on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium.

The Patriots scored four goals in just over eight minutes of play (57th, 59th, 63rd, 65th).

With the win, the Patriots moved into first place in the Atlantic 10 with a three-point lead over Duquesne with one match remaining in the regular season. George Mason has recorded 12 wins in a season for the first time since 2013.

After a scoreless first half, George Mason (12-3-0, 4-1-0 A-10, 18 Pts.) fell behind St. Bonaventure (6-7-3, 2-3-2 A-10, 8 Pts.) early in the second half.

In the first half, graduate student goalkeeper
Jaume Salvado made a spectacular save in the 15th minute, diving out to the upper right to deny the Bonnies. He also came up with a big save in the 38th minute.

St. Bonaventure took the lead in the 56th minute when senior midfielder Kenzo Brito scored his second goal of the season into the upper left corner from 13 yards out to put the Bonnies in front, 1-0.

George Mason responded quickly with the equalizer less than a minute later. Montava scored his first goal as a Patriot, finding the back of the net from 14 yards out into the lower right corner to even the score, 1-1. Freshman Forward
Martim Sereno played a perfect touch to Montava to start the play and picked up his fifth assist of the season.

Two minutes later,
Jordi Navio Sanchez netted his first goal in a Patriots' uniform from just outside the box from a severe angle to give George Mason a 2-1 advantage. Graduate student defender

Nicholas Prioli notched his first assist of the campaign with one-touch passing on the goal.

In the 63rd minute, Janssen blistered a low shot into the lower right corner for his first goal of the season to extend the lead to 3-1.

Marek Gonda worked his way past a defender to start the play and played the ball to Janssen for his third assist of the season.

Just over two minutes later, Janssen struck again when he raced down the left side and put a perfect shot under the challenging goalkeeper from just outside the left side of the box to make it 4-1.

Javi Sánchez picked up his fourth assist when he played a free kick to sophomore midfielder
James Eliuda, who sent the ball over the top from the center line for his fifth assist of the year.
