BRONX, N.Y. - The Patriots women's volleyball dropped a five-set match on Saturday afternoon to the Fordham Rams. George Mason played Fordham close through the first three sets, winning two of them, but eventually lost the momentum and the game: 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 14-25, 14-16.
The Patriots came out strong in the first set, leading 15-9 at the media timeout, and finished the set with from redshirt junior

Set two was a series of runs and point exchanges. Fordham started hot on a 4-0 run, but the Patriots fought back to tie the game at 7-7 and then take the lead. Another tie at 22-22 is where the Green & Gold stalled out. The Rams went on a 3-1 run to finish the set.
George Mason regained control of the game in set three. Starting the match on a 10-3 run, the Patriots scored first and never looked back. They finished the set with a kill from freshman
Avery Booker, 25-16.
The fourth set was the beginning of the end for the Patriots. From the get-go, it was clear something wasn't clicking, and Fordham had found their rhythm. By the time the Green & Gold had scored 10 points, Fordham had scored 20 points. Shortly after, the Rams finished the set, winning 25-14.
The Patriots looked like they had put their struggles behind them at the beginning of set 5. They lead the Rams 13-8, just two points shy of finishing the game. Unfortunately for the Green & Gold, the Rams had other plans. An 8-1 run finished the game, giving Fordham the victory.

- Senior Olyvia Kennedy led the Patriots with 16 kills at a .552 clip with zero attack errors.
- Sophomore Chelsea Colter and junior Haley Graetz hosted a tandem block party in the second set. The two teamed up to score off three blocks in five plays. Colter finished with five total blocks, Graetz finished with four.
- Two Patriots finished the game with double-doubles: redshirt junior Damiana Bova-Ford has 18 assists and 11 digs, and freshman Avery Booker had 13 kills and a career-high 12 digs.
