FAIRFAX, Va. – The No. 13 George Mason men's soccer team allowed a pair of goals late in the second half and fell to Duquesne, 2-1, on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium.
 
The Patriots (10-2-0, 4-1-0 A-10, 12 Pts.) took the lead over Duquesne (9-2-1, 4-1-0 A-10, 12 Pts.) early in the match.
 
In the eighth minute, George Mason graduate student forward 
Marek Gonda converted a header into the lower left corner for his seventh goal of the season to put the Patriots in front, 1-0.
 
Freshman forward Martrm Sereno and senior 
Javi Sánchez picked up the assists.
 
The Dukes netted the equalizer in the 77th minute.  Sophomore midfielder Jaxon Ervin scored from just inside the penalty area into the lower left corner off a throw-in.  Senior forward Maxi Hopfer notched the assist.
 
Duquesne tallied the game-winner in the 90th minute when Hopfer went one-on-one against the goalkeeper and scored his sixth goal of the season into the center of the net from eight yards out.

77' | Erivn scored from 16 yards out into the lower left corner with the right foot.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Patriots outshot the Dukes, 15-12, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.  George Mason had four corner kicks and Duquesne finished with two corner kicks in the match.

James Eliuda finished with three shots and put one shot on frame.
