Fairfax, Va. – The Patriots continue to make significant signings for the next season. Michael Schofield is the newest addition to the 2024 recruiting class and he is looking to make an impact once he joins the team.
Michael Schofield is a 6'7'' outside hitter attending Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL. Michael was named the Offensive MVP for Carmel Catholic after showcasing in multiple games his ability for kills and scoring points. His efforts were not only noticed by his school, the Eastern Suburban Catholic Conference (ESCC) also recognized the talent that Michael currently holds. Michael was named to the All-Conference Team of the Eastern Suburban Catholic Conference after dominant performances such as achieving 20 kills in one game. Not only is there dedication in the volleyball court, there is dedication in the classrooms as well with Michael being named into the All-Academic team for the ESCC.
We had the opportunity to ask Michael Schofield some questions about his excitement of joining the Patriots.
Why did you choose George Mason?
"I chose GMU because of a strong men's volleyball program and the opportunity to play for a great coach with a strong team dynamic. Additionally, GMU is a fantastic university with so much to offer academically as well as a beautiful campus in a perfect location."
What are your athletic goals?
"My athletic goal is to develop my athletic ability and specific volleyball skills early, and throughout my college career to become a more dependable pillar in the team."
Academic goals?
"My academic goal is to take full advantage of what GMU has to offer and build a strong foundation for a future in a business career."

"I bring passion for the game, a strong work ethic and discipline that the team can count on and leverage."
