WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophomore
Zahirah Walton has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second time in her career, announced by the league office on Monday.
Walton's honor marks the fourth-straight and fifth overall Rookie of the Week honor for the Patriots this season, as she earned it on Dec. 26 and
Kennedy Harris has earned it three times, including the last two weeks.
Walton contributed across the board in the Patriots' 1-0 week as Mason downed Davidson in dominating fashion, 79-41, at home on Wednesday. The sophomore rookie tallied 12 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and 4-4 tallied from the free throw line. The forward from Seattle, Wash. also added four rebounds, two steals and a career-high two blocks.
Walton and the Patriots return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 17 for a midweek matchup with Saint Louis at 7 p.m. in EagleBank Arena.
