Fairfax, Va.— The George Mason wrestling team won nine matches to defeat conference opponent Edinboro, 38-3 on Saturday inside the RAC.

Mason (9-4, 2-1) earned bonus point wins in five matches, including two falls. Edinboro drops to (1-6, 0-1).

Evan Maag earned a team-leading sixth fall today with a win against Max Kirby.  Redshirt sophomore Malachi DuVall , the Co-East Wrestler of the Week, earned his fifth pin of the season. 

Redshirt sophomore Nathan Higley bounced back after suffering his first loss this season against UVA, with a technical fall, improving to 9-1.  The No. 30 ranked wrestler at 141 pounds has seven bonus point wins in only 10 matches.

At 149-pounds, Mason's Kaden Cassidy earned his fourth technical fall with a win against Colin Roberts.

No. 26 DJ McGee earned a team-leading 20th win (20-3) with a 12-6 decision against Edinboro's Steffan Lynch at 157-pounds. 

The 174-pound match between the Patriots grad student Paul Pierce and Joey Arnold needed overtime. Pierce had a takedown to earn the Sudden Victory win and improve to 11-7.

With an 8-1 decision at heavyweight Chad Nix (11-2) earned his 11th win.
 
The Fighting Scots top ranked conference wrestler Jack Kilner, ranked fifth in the MAC, defeated the Patriots Tyler Kocak, 7-3, to put the Fighting Scots on the board.

Mason will look to earn its 10th win of the season hosting old CAA foe Hofstra on Sunday inside the RAC.
