Omar Hoyos has been called up to represent the Puerto Rican National Team in the NORCECA tournament in Charleston, WV.
Omar Hoyos has played before for Puerto Rico's U23 men's volleyball team in 2021. He was an important piece to the team, helping them qualify for the U23 Pan American Games that were held in Colombia.
Omar Hoyos came back to Fairfax with a silver medal around his neck after defeating the Dominican Republic in the semi-finals but then falling to Mexico in the final.
His spectacular performance for the U23 squad was rewarded with
Omar Hoyos being called up to the Puerto Rican National Team to play in the 2022 FIVB World Championships.
Now in 2023,
Omar Hoyos is back in action with Puerto Rico for the NORCECA Tournament that begins today, September 5
th up until September 10
th. Puerto Rico are in Group B with USA, Cuba, and Suriname. Meanwhile in Group A it is Canada, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
