FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team was downed by Saint Louis on Saturday afternoon in straight sets.

Camille Larkin was a major bright spot for the Patriots, hitting an incredible .800 with eight kills on 10 attempts with no errors. She tallied a team-high three block assists.
The Billikens (9-7, 2-2) jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first set and never looked back. Mason converted 11 kills throughout the match but was unable to get within five points until a short 3-0 run with
Haley Graetz at the service line brought the score to 22-18. However, a few Patriot errors gave Saint Louis the 1-0 match lead.
The Patriots (6-10, 2-2) traded points with the visitors to open set two, but back-to-back service aces by SLU gave it a 6-4 lead that they would not give back up. Larkin went a perfect 4-4 at the net and added two block assists as the Patriots got back within one, 20-19. The Billikens held off the Patriots however to win the set 25-22.
A strong start by Mason saw it build a 10-5 lead, but the Billikens capitalized on several Patriot mistakes to go on a 7-0 run and take a 12-10 lead of their own. Freshman
Caroline Rodriguez led the Patriots with three kills in the set, but Mason was unable to overtake Saint Louis as the Billikens took the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Gabriella Gelfound led Mason with 16 assists to go with four kills, six digs and three block assists in a well-rounded day
- Gracie Halley led the Patriots' defense with 12 digs. The libero has tallied double-figure digs in every match this season
- Haley Graetz checked in during the first set, setting career-highs of five kills and two block assists
