Fairfax, Va. -- George Mason University men's golfer Milan Matneja has been named to the 2023 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Thursday. The team was selected by a vote of the league's golf communications directors.
 
The graduate student earned a GPA of 4.00 while pursuing a master's degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology.
 
Matneja played his best collegiate golf down the stretch with three top 40 finishes, while boasting a 73.8 stroke average in the final three tournaments.
 
A native of Fairfax, Matneja lead the Patriots with an 11th place finish, the grad student's best finish at an Atlantic 10 Championship. He carded a four-over-par 220 (72-73-75).
 
Matneja also lead the Patriots at the par 71, 7,455 Scarlet Course at The Ohio State Golf Club at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in the final regular season tournament. He carded back-to-back 74(+3) rounds prior to a 76 in the final round in cold conditions to finish t-30 overall in the 100- player field.
