FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn has announced that Tre' Wood will join the Patriot roster for the 2023-24 campaign.

Wood, a 6-foot-1-inch guard, will join the Green & Gold for his fifth year after spending the previous three seasons at LIU. He began his collegiate career at Massachusetts in 2018-19.

"Tre is a great kid who's just gotten better every year," Skinn said.  He's been solid his whole career and I think he's ready to step up within our program. With the way and tempo we're going to play, he's the kind of guard who fits perfectly. He understands this league and he'll be a great addition to our backcourt."

Overall, Wood has appeared in 89 collegiate games and tallied 487 career points and 292 career assists.

This past season at LIU, the Largo, Md., product averaged career bests in scoring (7.6 ppg), assists (4.3 apg) and rebounds (3.3 rpg) while starting nine of the 20 games he played. That included a 20-point effort vs. Stonehill and an impressive 12-assist outing vs. Fairleigh Dickinson.

As a junior, Wood notched 6.5 points and 3.9 assists per contest while starting all 30 games and averaging a career-high 29.9 minutes per contest.

A 2018 graduate of St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C., Wood served as a two-year captain for the program and was a first team all-conference and all-city pick. He led St. John's to a WCAC Championship and the District's city title. He played his AAU ball for D.C.'s Team Takeover.
