FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University established record-setting attendance numbers at last week's NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship at EagleBank Arena, which included a total attendance of 14,773 over six matches across four days of competition.

Mason set the NCAA Championship expanded field era record. The total attendance mark broke the previous record of 14,211, established by Long Beach State in 2019.

An impressive 6,942 spectators attended UCLA's four-set championship win over Hawaii representing the highest attendance for a championship in the history of men's volleyball outside the state of California. Since the expanded field era, the mark would be the overall third-highest finals attendance.

"We were proud and honored to host this year's NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship," Interim Director of Athletics, Nena Rogers said. "We want to congratulate UCLA on its national championship and also recognize Hawaii, Penn State, Long Beach State, Grand Canyon, Ohio State and King University on their outstanding seasons. The matches were extremely competitive and entertaining and the atmosphere and energy at EagleBank Arena was outstanding.  We are grateful for all the fans who traveled a great distance to enjoy this compelling championship as well as experience our beautiful and vibrant campus."

George Mason last hosted the NCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship in 1990, which had a final match attendance of 5,511.
