Then, with two runners on board, Kelsey Etling (2-3, 2 RBI, 1 2B) hit a double down the left field line, scoring two more.
The Billikens added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, Gabbie Kowalik (1-2, 2 R, 1 BB) reached to first on a Patriot throwing error, scoring two unearned runs. Two more unearned runs would be scored off an ensuing Abby Mallo home run. At the end of the fourth inning, the Patriots were down 1-7.
The game ended in the bottom of the fifth inning after the Billikens scored two more runs, invoking the Run Rule Victory rule. After the Billikens scored one run with an RBI double, they scored their last run of the game off a sacrifice fly, scoring the runner from third and ending the game.
