FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn has announced that former UNLV standout Keyshawn Hall will compete for the Patriots beginning in 2023-24.
A rising sophomore with three seasons of eligibility remaining, Hall is a 6-foot-7-inch guard/forward who brings to Fairfax a tremendous skill set on both ends of the floor.
Hall chose George Mason over offers from Georgetown, Louisville, Texas and VCU, among others.
"I watched Keyshawn two years ago while I was transitioning from Seton Hall to Ohio State and left the gym very impressed," Skinn said. "When he ended up in the portal, I knew he would get high major interest because he's that talented. He's a basketball junkie who's highly versatile, physical and can make an impact at multiple positions. With the way we're going to play, I knew he was someone we had to have."
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Hall showed flashes of brilliance and boundless potential during his freshman campaign with the Runnin' Rebels. He saw action in 17 games while averaging 5.7 points in just 10.8 minutes per contest.
He scored 10+ points in four of those contests, including a career-best 19-point performance at Utah State on January 17. That effort was part of a three-game stretch in which he scored 39 points in just 64 minutes while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
Hall proved efficient throughout the season while shooting 47.9 percent overall and 50 percent from beyond the arc. His efforts helped the Rebels tally 19 wins in a highly-competitive Mountain West Conference which produced four NCAA Tournament teams.
Hall attended Denver Prep in Colorado in 2021-22 where he averaged a league-leading 24 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists per game. He helped lead the Yetis to the conference championship game. Prior to his prep year, he competed for Cleveland Heights High School and the Skill Factory in Georgia. He played his AAU ball for Mid Ohio Pumas.
